Natasha received a formal training in scientific research with a specialisation in marine microbiology prior to joining NBS Intellectual Sdn. Bhd. She has three years of research experience from her stint as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences, University of Malaya, while co-affiliated with the National Antarctic Research Centre.
She wrote an M.Phil. dissertation on the thermal growth kinetics in tropical and polar (Antarctic and Arctic) microfungi for understanding fungal physiological adaptation to global warming. She also authored and published a number of research articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, and presented her work at various national and international conferences. Additionally, she mentored and supervised laboratory interns and undergraduates for short-term research projects.
She was a recipient of the MyBrain15 scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education. During her time as an undergraduate in UKM, she received a number of the Dean’s List Award for her outstanding academic performance.
Natasha loves a good logical argument; she believes that patent prosecution is an excellent opportunity to bridge the gaps between science, law, and commerce. Under the guidance of experienced and qualified IP professionals, she executes novelty searches, reviews inventions, drafts patents, files applications, and corresponds to national and international office actions including those of the International Cooperation Treaty.
Natasha has a lifelong interest in the fine arts and natural history. Outside of work, she paints, and is involved in art education for young children and teenagers.
