Ainatul started her career as a patent specialist in 2014 with one of the top boutique Intellectual Property firm in Kuala Lumpur where she managed patent portfolios for a wide range of local and internationally notable clients; including Sanofi, Novartis, Panasonic and Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
She first obtained her interdisciplinary honours degree in Bioinformatics from Multimedia University with a scholarship from the Malaysian Public Service Department. Accompanied by her unflappable curiosity and her excitement for experience and learning, after a few years of working in the Intellectual Property field, Ainatul then pursued a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Law organized by the CNIPA and WIPO, from Tongji University in Shanghai China with a scholarship from Chinese Scholarship Council. Ainatul had passed her Patent Agent Examination in 2019.
Her expertise lies largely in the area of patent and industrial design protection, with extensive familiarity in patent drafting together with patent and industrial design prosecution in Malaysia as well as international jurisdictions. She now manages local and international portfolios of patents and industrial designs in across a variety of technical fields, including biotechnology, mechanicals, and computer systems and executes work involving prosecution, search and opinion, drafting, patent freedom-to-operate opinion, filing and correspondence with MyIPO.
Ainatul has gained international experience through participating in numeral intellectual property courses, trainings and workshops, including seminars and trainings by WIPO speakers, at the China Intellectual Property Training Center in Beijing, 2018 Tongji University Workshop on China-EU Anti-Competition Law, as well as visiting the Shanghai High People’s Court and attending the 15th Shanghai International IP Forum & Global IP Protection and Innovative Development Conference.
In her spare time, Ainatul enjoys a nice quiet time being in nature and honing her self-taught skill of playing the ukulele.
