Joey is a Patent Executive at NBS Intellectual Sdn Bhd, where she has been working since 2023. She manages patent and industrial design portfolios and handles local, PCT, and foreign filings, liaising with foreign agents and responding to examination reports issued by IP Offices locally and abroad. Her responsibilities also include handling queries, conducting novelty searches, freedom-to-operate search (FTO), infringement analysis, landscape searches, equivalent patent searches, legal status research, company searches, and drafting patent specifications. Notably, she has successfully obtained patent grants within 4 to 8 months through expedited examination.

In 2024, Joey was the only Malaysian representative selected by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to attend the Advanced International Certificate Course (AICC) on Intellectual Property Asset Management for Business Success in Seoul, South Korea. The program was jointly organized by WIPO, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Joey holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). She also possesses strong language skills, having achieved excellent results in both the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) and Cambridge O Level English 1119. Additionally, Joey has taken on emcee roles for company events, showcasing her strong communication and presentation skills. Her combination of technical expertise, legal knowledge, and language proficiency allows her to handle complex patent and industrial design matters effectively and communicate across diverse international IP contexts.
