Last year, Little Hare Gin Company Limited applied to register a series of trade marks (“shown above”) in the UK for Gin; alcoholic beverages except for beers; spirits; distilled spirits; liqueurs; alcopops; alcoholic cocktails; alcoholic extracts; alcoholic essences; alcoholic beverages containing fruit” in Class 33 and was subsequently accepted for publication on 27 March 2020.

Harrogate Distillery Ltd T/S Whittaker’s Gin owns a UK registration for the mark above covering “gin” in Class 33. Whittaker opposed part of Little Hare Gin’s application.

UK IPO rejected the opposition citing that the evidence submit by Whittaker is not sufficient to oppose the Little Hare Gin’s application.
