✍🏻 Many have known the fact where registered trademark are granted a validity period of 10 years from the date of filing in general (7 in certain countries). However, not many are aware that there are countries like the USA, Mexico and even the Philippines require a submission of declaration or statement of use to showcase actual or commercial use of the trademark in the country. Ignorance of the knowledge has caused many to have lost their trademark protection rights in the country, and the only means to recover the protection is to go through the registration process over again, or pay expensive attorney fees to get it reinstate if permissible under the jurisdiction. Henceforth, it is absolutely crucial to maintain a docket of IP registration to avoid lapse of trademark rights or any other IP rights for that matter.
