📁 In 2007 Starbucks lost its final appeal in a trademark dispute in South Korea with the South Korean company Elpreya. The Supreme Court of Korea dismissed Starbucks’s appeal of the Patent Court of Korea’s ruling on the case in which Starbucks claimed that the Starpreya’s logo infringed its trademark.
⚖️ The court held that the trademarks of Starbucks and Elpreya are different in appearance and name and the court held that Starbucks cannot establish that its trademark was well-known in Korea before Elpreya released its registered trademark to the market.
