👨‍⚖️ In 2018, Nestle lost their claim to the right to trademark the shape of its four-finger KitKat bar in the UK. The court said that the company had to show that the general public relied on the shape alone to identify the snack.

👉 One of the biggest threats to KitKat’s shape was Kvikk Lunsj, a Norwegian snack that is owned by Mondelez, previously Cadbury. Kvikk Lunsj was launched two years after Kit-Kat.
