โœ’๏ธ The recently enforced Trademarks Act 2019 of Malaysia has undergone major changes in comparison to its predecessor. One of it is how it defines a โ€œmarkโ€. Instead of using the word โ€œmarkโ€, the new Act has adopted a more general term namely โ€œsignโ€ which includes the usual letters, word, name, signature, numeral, device, brand etc., and make an addition to non-traditional trademark like SOUND, SCENT, HOLOGRAM, POSITIONING, SEQUENCE OF MOTION or any combination thereof.

๐ŸŒŸ Proprietor in Malaysia now enjoys a wider spectrum in protecting their creation of brand names and logos.
