🕵️ In November 1955, young King Bhumibol Adulyadej after witnessing Thai farmers suffering from drought initiated the Thailand Royal Rainmaking Project. The artificial rain-making comprises of three steps: triggering, fattening and attacking the cloud. Potential rain clouds were seeded, built up, dragged and forced to yield rain over target areas. After years of trials and errors, the Royal Rain, or artificial rain project was perfected. The “weather modification by royal rainmaking technology” was later granted patent, numbered EP1491088 by the European Patent Office in 2003.
