✒️ The Mini is a design classic born due to fuel supply shortage during the 1950s caused by the Suez crisis. Designer Alec Issigonis was tasked with designing a frugal car compared to large cars at that time, to compete with popular German bubble cars like the VW Beetle – itself a design classic. The Mini became a British icon, and was revolutionary at the time. Its distinctively diminutive contours remain hugely popular today.
