Marcus holds a doctorate degree in the field of Biosciences. He has 7 years of research experience in molecular biology and biotechnology with publications, and has won numerous awards in local and international conferences, as well as for his research dissertation. Marcus also has extensive experience and competency in managing and supervising projects. With his proven academic and extracurricular achievements, he was selected as an honorary graduate at the University of Nottingham in 2017.
Marcus has received the recognition in Anugerah Perdana Belia Negara by the Prime Minister of Malaysia and the high achiever’s award from the State Government of Melaka. He was also a recipient of scholarships from the Malaysian Ministry of Education and the Star Education Fund.
He hopes to bridge the gap between scientific innovations and technological executions using the intellectual property (IP) platform. He now handles local and international portfolios of patents and designs in the field of science and technology and executes work involving search and opinion, drafting, filing and correspondence, including those of the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
Marcus held positions as research assistant and research associate at the School of Biosciences, University of Nottingham from 2012 to 2017. He was then recruited by NBS Intellectual Sdn Bhd in 2017 to complement its Patents Department. Under a team led by a qualified patent, trademark, design and copyright agent with more than 10 years of experience in professional IP practices, they aspire to adopt dynamic and vigorous approaches in prosecuting cases of intellectual property rights on behalf of their clients.
